I have an Efina that I'll sometimes throw into my suitcase when I'm going somewhere
new on a business trip. If I see something I'd like to explore more, I can return
with my ZX-5n and gear. My younger son has been experimenting with the Efina and B&W
APS film with good results. I'm thinking

Anyone have any experience with the Takumar-F 28-80mm Macro Zoom f/3.5-4.5? How does
it compare to the Pentax 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 SMC-FA lens? Does the Tak version have the
SMC coating? TIA!

I sold my Super Program that I purchased new in 1983 last year when I bought my ZX-5n.
I find that sometimes I miss the split focusing and manual process from the SP. So,
with the US$40 rebate that Pentax is offering, a ZX-M from B&H is only about $120!
Can someone from the list compare/cont

Thank you GREATLY for the comparison. Lots of points to consider. I have a couple of
further questions if you don't mind too much:
1. How has the non-metal lens ZX-M mount fared? I currently have a SMC-A 28/2.8 and
SMC-A 50/2.8 Macro (ignoring my F and FA lens). I looking at a SMC-

It is funny looking back 17-18 years
I saw a review in the Chicago Tribune for "Lonely Planet's Travel Photography" the
week-end before my wife and I went on vacation in February. This was our first
vacation since I purchased the ZX-5n and sold my Super Program so I wanted things to
go well. On the basis of a strong review, I pi

I went to the Cubs game on Saturday and took my camera and a couple of lens. I
carried them right in inside a Tamrac messenger-type bag under my shoulder. Security
never even asked me to open the bag. I saw quite a few people with cameras and lenses

I don't do a lot of macro photography it seemed like a resonable
compromise.
The best part: I was able to buy both lenses for what it would have cost me to buy the
Pentax Macro 50mm f/2.8 alone.
Thanks again to everyone that took time from their week-end to respond.

I have to share this with the LARGE Illinois group here on the PDML. My wife wanted
to go see the new baby gorilla at Brookfield Zoo today. Sounded like a great
opportunity to "play" with my ZX-5n so I quickly agreed.
What I wanted to share was an interesting exhibit that opened this week. U
