I have a new to me cheapie vivitar ring flash which I'm using on my K1000.
Works fine under a metre, but it refuses to fire on my MZS, or a sync
hotshoe (flash has a short cord with a mini jack on one end and a PC Sync on
the other). I've tried it on a few other cameras but it still refuse

shutter and the lens at the same time as the shutter release on the MZS is
electronic and since I couldn't figure out how to join a cable release to a
electronic release its going to be cheaper/easier to buy a macro lens. I

here you have to join the PPSA (Professional Photographers of Southern
Africa) to get that status. To join you have to have a 3 year technikon
diploma or have served under a registered pro as an appie. You still
