I have to admit that I do not edit the way I should. And I often think that
if I had thrown out all the slides that had small problems with them because, I
would be very disappointed right now. Until digital came along, a slight flaw
in a slide was enough to relegate it to the wastebasket. Today

center-point autofocus and the end result is bad compositon with the subject

My 2001 MZ-S, my constant companion, is loaded with 2004 film, and in 2010,
when today's digital wonders are considered laughably obsolete, I'll be

My experience has been that when I get some brutal prints back (shots I would
have normally just thrown away and think that I screwed up) if I scan them I
can get them to look the way I wanted them to in the first place.

I agree with Paul. The lens seems to perform fine considering we are making
that judgement on a 72 dpi scan, which I maintain is no way to judge a lens. I
find that, with the exception of the colorful wall, the subject matter you
have chosen is very weak and probably goes a long way in suggesti

experienced printer. Most printers don't know how to handle this stuff. One of
the pro level stores I go to will print the CN400 in several different ways:
Sepia, Cyanotype, warm black, cool black or pure black and white

Just a comment on the original pics. I've been away for a while and am just
catching up on the digest version. Hope my comments are not too repetitious. It
is difficult to judge shots that have been scanned because of the
variabilities in the scanning process. First off, I'm not sure about the K

a little narrow for my liking. I now have a mint 35-105A along with the AF
28-105FA lens that cover the wide and mid-length telephoto lengths very nicely...

I never could understand this 1:1, 3:1, 4:1 talk. Unless you are doing
scientific work or have a real good reason to know your magnification, who cares.
It's all about the image you're seeing through the viewfinder. If you're close
enough to get the image you want, it's all you need I think
If you are going to use a bellows, the 50 is more useable. If you want a
straight macro to use without bellows, the 100 mm gives you more distance which is
very valuable for all sorts of reasons, including room to use reflectors,
