Oh, with a 500 and a 2x, the moon should be quite large in the frame. So the
metering will be close. But if I just had the mirror without the extender,
normal metering will just create a white blob for the moon. Its nice to have the
freedom to chimp, and adjust accordingly.

I wonder which body concept they finally settled on for the 645D. Initially, I
thought the droopy one looked odd, and prefered the more classical looking ones.
But the back-sloping LCD would be useful (I seriously considered getting the
MZ-S just for this feature, back in my film-only days).
Scanning negs can be tricky because of the orange mask. Silverfast has some
prests for various types of film that get you close to a good scan. Or you can
just scan in 48-bit and use the colour correction tools in PS to do corrections.
