Interesting sidenote, the guy I bought it from lives in Concord, CA.
Say, that's where I live, too! I wonder if that guy ever came in to Reed's
when I was working there. We had a few Pentax afficionados that would come
chat with me from time to time.

I beg to differ, Kenny Boy is not a Nimrod, he's a Dork.

So what's more likely for you next: new body or new lenses?
While I would REALLY like to say I'll be getting one of the new items, the fact
is that I probably can't afford any of them.
However, if I could, my first move would be to sell my M* 300mm f4 and apply
that money toward the DA*300.
The logo is for Puma, and doing a quick googling for puma bicycle I came up

My recommendation is to get a deeper than stock hood for both the 43

than the slide off and get lost stock caps, I agree.
I don't use filters on any of my lenses anymore (besides a cir. polarizer

This comparison has come up before. Rarely do I hear anyone compare the
potential market viability of the 645D to whatever Hassy is selling.
Does anyone actually buy those damn things?

The Saturn division originally built very good little cars, a great
first cut on subcompacts. GM simply starved them of money until they
could be made over in the image of the parent company. Now Saturns are
just plastic clad GM extrusions. They build keepers but the fish keeps

The Sky's interesting, as it's a straight rebadge of the Opel
Speedster (Same styling and drivetrain) unlike the fairly extensively
modified Solstice (which is based on the Speedster, but not
identical).
Wait, you mean the Sky and Solstice aren't the exact same rebadged car?
Are you certain?
Well, if your camera shop is anything like the one I worked at, the fact that
you're sending it off through them means it's probably going to a Pentax-
authorized repair center, and not Pentax themselves. The place it's sent to
may or may not be as fast as Pentax at fixing cameras, but I'd bet
Last photo I took (and kept) before sending my K10D off for repair was number

conservative photographer: I don't like shooting a dozen shots of one subject,
unless there's a lot of action.
This is probably because of two
I saw a ZX-M (MZ-M) and an *ist in a San Francisco Ritz Camera last summer.
Before Reed's closed, we still had some ZX-M kits in stock, though I think a
local school was going to buy them all. We sold quite a few ZX-M bodies to a
couple local schools over the years, actually. Damn kids kept
A: What cameras have you owned that you wish you had never gotten rid of?
Every camera I sold last summer, especially the 6x7 and MX. Someday I'll
replace them, I hope.

Oohh, lots. Back at Reed's, I got to play with many

Anyone have a lens hood for the DA 18-55 that they wouldn't mind parting with?
I'm in no hurry to find one, but I finally got a raise last week, and I'd like

Very nice, Frank. IMO it would be stronger if cropped to the top

Agreed. Cropping out the top would make this
I have an idea for a fun PESO theme (for anyone who is interested), but I'm
unsure if such a thing is allowed. It does not conflict with current PUG
themes, as far as I can tell. The point for anyone who wants to participate
would be to post an image they've already taken that fits the theme.
