Metz has a two Pentax dedicated flashes working even in wireless, HSS
et all= 48AF1 a,d 58AF1, both excellent choice.

I would be very unhappy without high speed synch. For outdoor
activities where you can't count on the right sun angle for every
shot, high speed synch is a life saver.

Just for another option, I'm pretty happy with my Metz 58AF-1 P/S on my
K10D. Similar to the 540FGZ in specs; more info here:

Hi
has anyone had the opportunity to compare the Metz 58AF-1 P/S to the
Pentax 540fgz.
Any features that are missing / extra ... What build quality, exposure
accuracy etc...

If it's the same as the 540, you can purchase the hot-shoe module for
about $40. It attaches with four screws, and the electrical
connections are by means of a single

Failing that, another thing that might be worth considering is if you buy
another AF-360GZ
which breaks somewhere else, you would be able to use the other one for
spares?
If you can fix it for $40 that sounds

Hi,
It might be a no-no for your needs, but it may be worth looking at Metz
offering, specially for those who have a limited budget:
I've a couple Metz flashguns second hand, and I'm very happy about them.
Both are SCA3000 universal units with Pentax adapters, with
twist/swivel capability,
these flash.
Cheers,

Also, the 54-MZ4 or newer, with the latest 3702M2 SCA adapter, works fine in
PTTL... but not HSS or wireless. Curently the only Metz with this (for
pentax) is the (dedicatd) 58AF-1 P/S.

Hi,
I used to have the Pentax AF-360FGZ, which is broken and they ask for lots of
money to repair it ( Norway, sweet Norway☹). So I decide to buy one more flash
and I dedicated around 250 US$ for a flash, I wonder which flash do you
recommend. I do not think any time I need wireless feature.

I have the Sigma EF-530 DG ST and I love it! It does more than the
Pentax 360 (like it swivels and rotates) and it costs less than the
Pentax 540. My only complaint is that it is missing the bounce card
that the 360 has built in (it does have a built in diffuser). It also
has a higher
