Regards backup, you should always have at least two duplicates, plus your working copy of the Lightroom .lrcat file in its enclosing directory, and the entire original image file repository on separate hard drive volumes. The more the merrier. Use a backup or synchronizing utility application to do

I'm happy with a 200 gig pocket drive that I make my 3rd backup to, which I keep in my car in the alley. A. I have all my master images with me wherever I go. RAW & Jpeg. B. It's offsite, but only 30 seconds away. C. Being USB powered, any computer can access it. D. It's not that expensive.
