This site is teasing us with the romor of 3-4 new dSLR cameras from Pentax in
2012, including one with a 35mm-sized sensor. I am so impressed with the K-5
(for me, a substantial improvement over the K-7 in low light), I'm not looking
for a K-5 upgrade. I don't want a mirrorless dSLR without an

I think (hope) that the K-01 is really a prototype and that a more
refined, smaller, etc. K-02 will follow. The K20 was the K10 fixed,
as was the K5 to the K7.

I noticed that mirror slap was much quieter with the MZ-3 and ZX-5n.
and while those mirrors were a bit smaller than the LX mirror they
weren't all that much smaller. The *ist-D seemed to use the same

All those methods use power, which is sucked out of the battery. Larry
want's a passive mechanical lockup. I understand why, I just don't
think it's likely given that it would probably require a complete
redesign of the mirror/shutter mechanism. Electronic lockup, as you've

I understand that the uses I mentioned use power. I also noted that
it would not be difficult to have a physical catch for the mirror.
It's not a priority for Pentax to offer it, so it probably will never
happen.
I also do not think that it would require a redesign of the entire
mirror assembly

I think that's likely to happen eventually. The K-01 is intended for
newbies (to both photography and Pentax) but I expect a mirrorless
