Actually, I don't think I was misreading you at all. I use an LX as a
primary camera and wanted an all mechanical (battery only needed for meter)
second body. But DOF preview is important to me as is interchangeable
focusing screens. If there is a K body that fits these requirements I'd

hi Jim, if you get a moment I would love to hear your thoughts on the SF1n
vs. the PZ1-p as an owner of both. I have 2 SF1n's and keep wondering about
swapping one out for a PZ1(p) and would value your thoughts on it.

Hi Juan ...
If I recall, you have the same version of the 'cron as I (the one just
before the current version with the built-in hood), and I've not noticed
any similar problems. I suppose if you shot the scene at a certain angle
relative to the light source the chances of this happening would be

How about pink? You could have a genuine Pentax MX Barbie.
The Barbie camera must also be fitted with giant silver flowers, or

Chris;
Which K-series body provides a full mechanical shutter speed range (1sec -
1/1000 ) DOF preview, interchangeable focusing screens and a decent
motor/winder?
I just bought an MX on ebay for half of what I normally see them go for.
I'll let you know how it is when i get it later this week.

I was excited when I read that Pentax was coming out with a TTL metering
system in the Spotmatic. I had a Honeywell Pentax H3 (still have it) and
was looking forward to this new technology.

The MX is the least favorite camera of mine. I've used it twice, maybe

Hi Chris ...
Apart from any mechanical considerations, the camera - especially when
compared to the Spotmatic era cameras, the K-series bodies, the LX, the

I thought the MX was one of the best regarded bodies out
there.
I want to get a second one, looking for a black one at the

It seems I must make amends for my blasphemous statements bout the MX.
I believe that SMC is amongst the best there is.

list, and, if I recall the series of events correctly, someone commented
