I'm late to the party but I'll chime in, much like Doug my income is
highly variable these days (photography being what it is) but still I
value the work-flow inherent in LR enough to submit to their
ransom-ware tactics (which I loathe). I stay within LR for most of my
edits if possible and venture

Same here for various software and I'd hate to give up the only surround

Larry, I bought the last non-ransomware version of Lightroom and
didn't bother even installing until almost two years later! The
"dehaze" tool was a useful addition but other than that it didn't have
anything to recommend it over previous versions as far as I'm
concerned. I can't see any reason to

Lightroom 6.14 runs okay on MacOS Mojave. It runs “ok” on Catalina also, as
long as you installed Catalina over an existing Mojave system with LR already
installed. It’s the Adobe installer/license management app that doesn’t run on
Catalina preventing LR 6 installation.
My solution to this an
HDR and panorama functions don't do anything for me whatsoever. I don't
use face recognition or GPS info because I know who it is and where I am
most of the time.
Having said that, I use LR Classic and gladly pay the monthly because
it's as much a part of my photography as my cameras, electric

That depends on what *you* must have...
To me, the library side is at least as important as the RAW development.
Also, I have 'bought' Lightr

You might want to take a look at On1 Photo RAW 2020 as a replacement for
LR. There will be a learning curve but it's a pretty powerful program
which includes HDR, panoramas, focus stacking and their resize engine is
based on Genuine Fractals. The 30 day trial is fully functional and if

I recently came into the possession of a macbook pro that is a lot newer than
mine, the downside is it only has a 1TB drive, and no ethernet port, but it
does have USB 3 and two thunderbolt ports. It had OSX Mojave installed on it,
which it turns out won’t run LR 6.
