Nice image Gregg. Although it is nice to be able to see an image

As someone with a slower (56K) Internet connection and for
whom other e-mail messages are often more important then
discussion list messages, I would just as soon not have images
sent to the list. I don't have a limit on individual message size,

What happens to the digest version when you post an image? I imagine it
sucks. There's also the problem of the image being left in peoples'
replies back to the list. I suggest images be left out of emails.
Nice image Gregg, it downloaded in seconds and had sharp resolution. Although
it is nice to be able to see an image immediately, I also like to know that I
can go to a site where images are stored and I can access them at a later
date. On the other hand quick access would probably make it easier

I also feel taht this is not the best way to share images.
I belong to another list, the PhotoForum, run from Rochester, and they

Hi all,
I believe that we should not post images via the list for all of the reasons
all ready stated. Plus it seems that most virus's are spread as attachments.
I know that at this time images can't include a virus, but it is just a
matter of time before some one finds a way to do so. Let's just
Great image Gregg! It took no longer to download than a 'regular' message.
But then, I'm on a cable modem connected 24/7. BTW even the high speed
connection slows to a crawl when there is heavy traffic.
I think it would be nice to be able to post images to the list, but the

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I didn't want to spend too much time with
yet another administrative issues, but I believe the list should serve the
interests of all. There have been several good arguments why we should NOT
send images in postings, so I think we should continue our old p

I know that with my previous server and modem it was a
total pain in the arse to receive images in email,
REALLY slow and often my server would time me out and
I'd have to go in via Telnet to delete the offensive
email, never having seen what image was sent.
Thus, while it is not a problem for me
Looks good to me, and created no download burden. I am on a 56K modem.
I thought at first that I hadn't received it, because there was a
broken-link icon where I would have expected the image to be, but later
I scrolled down past that box and found it.
I'm new here and completely new to pinhol

I think the ability to post individual images by e-mail is an advantage, if we
can ask for some parameters such as a problem with something or some other need
for a shared single image.

A couple of problems I've seen so far with posting images in email:
- The archive wasn't able to display the image, but does display the binary
file as text - very ugly and takes up just as much space.
- The entire email arrive to me at work using MS Outlook, as an attached
