The only way I've done it is take the speaker out from my PC and plug it
into the line in on my Linux server that runs SC.
You -could- run an SC installation on the laptop with nothing but the
wave input plugin and attach the SB to that installation when you want
to. If the laptop AND SB are both

I believe my problem is related to the one all of you have been solving
on this thread. My problem is that I can't play internet radio
stations that are wma streams. I'm running squeeze center 7.3.2 on a
debian etch system. Softsqueeze is being run from a windows xp machine
on my network. I ha

ah, thanks; they're also in AlienBBC, of course.
I was just trying to cut down on installed plugins that do similar
things. But perhaps that's unnecessary fiddling :)

Just got 1.0.5, for which many thanks; it's great.
I have a couple of silly questions, please...
- is there any way to get iPeng to add something to my Favourites? I do
this a lot in SC, but I can't see how to in iPeng.

I've been making great use of custom browser menus but seem to have come
across a limit in viewing albums with dozens of tracks. My controller
just hangs and won't display any of the tracks when I select these
albums. Note I can use the normal controller menus to find these
albums and display al
The BBC podcasts are available using podcast plugin and the following
url.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/opml/bbc_podcast_opml.opml
Some podcast are only available in the UK. I am not sure what happens
with these UK only podcasts and the above URL.

perhaps you can look for a script named button.sh or something like
this in /etc/acpid/events/
This script is called by acpid when you press on the button; I suppose
the script does something different than the command you've defined for

Thanks for the feedback Moonbase. Sounds like my machine is more
marginal than I thought. Pity as the plugin seems to be quite
powerful. I just thought it was odd that the music would play for so
long (approx 1 hour)before striking problems.
Cheers

No, it didn't crash, but scrolling was very choppy as it was loading. It
was loading and adding for about 2 minutes maybe, I really did time it
to see when it stopped. It got to the T's and then the Z marker
displayed at the end with one album listed just after the Z mark, I

The BBCiPlayer plugin will give you better quality audio and native
playing so less load on server. The only thing missing from BBCiPlayer
at the moment is BBC World Service programs.
For UK listeners - BBCiPlayer is the plugin that you should be using.

Hi,
I have a strange problem when using server power control.
First short info about my setup: I have a Mini-ITX system with a VIA
EPIA EN15000G board. I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 and Squeezecenter 7.3.2.
Now to my problem: Server power control puts my server into standby
nicely. When I wake up the

Thanks, yes I am in the UK - so that will be the problem.
I have
Are you in the UK ?
If you are in the UK the BBC 5 live UK RealAudio stream URL has a
mistake which prevents AlienBBC from playing it. If you are in the UK
- use the WMA stream in SC provided menus.

I'm having a similar problem with the Radio 5 Live stream, withing the
BBC Lice streams sub menu. All of the other live streams are working
fine, but 5 Live is just radio silence ... which is a shame as its the
only live stream I listen to.
Can any one help?

Pippin,
Thanks for the link. I disabled the virus scan and did a complete
rescan of my library. I for the first time have album art in the
browser and the album function starts to load, although it never
completes to load all the way to Z. It will load to T and show the Z
marker. I still don't ge
I am occasionally asked by friends and family if the sound from a web
page (such as youtube or iPlayer) that we are listening to on my laptop
can be heard over the hi-fi via the SqueezeBox. I have said "no" so
far, but reading this thread gives me hope that it might be possible.

Inguz seems to really hog resources. I’d have LOVED to use it, but
with a 1.8GHz/1GB RAM Win/XP+SP3 machine, I only get about 20s of music
out of every full minute (the rest is computing at 100% CPU), without
even using a DRC profile :-(

Thanks for the response. I'm using a dual core 1.9 GHz machine which

thing is that the music plays for about an hour before the problem kicks
