On the Synology Squeezecenter, when I open Squeezecenter / Settings /
Advanced / AlienBBC, mplayer is listed as installed. It is also shown as
an option in the dropdown menu in the filetypes tab. Apparently the
Extension downloader installed some mplayer on the Synology together
with AlienBBC.
Is
Extension Downloader does not install mplayer.
AlienBBC will try to install mplayer on Windows as the Windows binary
works on all Windows platforms. AlienBBC does not try to install
mplayer on Linux as processor and kernel can be different on different
systems.

just setting up a replacement slimcenter for someone.
fresh format, windows xp sp3 patched. McAfee enterprise 8.7i with
squeezecenter folder on the exclusions list. install of Squeezecenter
7.3.2. added one album, works fine.
only running softsqueeze lcoally at the moment.

whatever came with the default 7.3.2 slimcenter installation. didn't
know it still needed to be updated now it came as part of the install.

I am a Canadian subscriber. I have SC version 7.3.1. I can't get Sirius
to work with either plugin 1.5 or 1.0.2.
Sirius had worked fine for months with 1.0.2 and suddenly hung up on
getting the channels a few weeks ago. 1.5 won't let me input my ID and
password - I get page not found.

sorted on the AlienBBC front. thanks for clearing my mistake up.
iPlayer not working, but not too bothered about that as this is for
someone else and they're only used to Alien anyway (replacing their
QNAP109/SlimServer with this).

There seems to be a problem with the BBC URLs used in the Internet Radio
menu and that is the cause of the 500 error - they need to be updated by
SD.

I just installed IR Blaster too, to use with my Naim 112x pre-amp. I
find that if I have the fixed volume parameter of IR Blaster set to
100%, then I cannot increase the volume.
It seems IR Blaster needs to use the volume control of the SB in some

Hi, I have upgraded from Server 6.5.x to the latest version 7.3.x. With
the 6.5 version AlienBBC worked fine to my Slimp3 devices. I cannot get
it to work with 7.3. Can someone sent me a custom-convert.conf.txt that
will work.

One SliMP3 user found this change to work.
Edit the custom-convert.conf file in Plugins/Alien and change the
RTSP-MP3 entry to reduce speed of audio stream.

Since you have not provided any system info - I shall assume you are
just using the SC provided URLs on a 7.3.x systems.
These URLs are broken as a result of BBC changes.
If you are inthe UK install BBCiPlayer plugin and use the menu items
within the BBCiPlayer menu.

I don't appear to be able to stream any BBC radio station (UK resident)

Local commercial radio streams work OK. But friends appear to be able
to stream Radio 1 for example.
However I navigate to Radio 2 for example just scrolls the channel name
with no audio whereas kestral or 2TenFM
Try the live streams from the BBCiPlayer plugin. This uses the latest
BBC streams. I sent Andy the details of these for SN last week, but it
does not look like he has updated SN yet.

Ah found the Extension Downloader in the plugin section of settings, and
once I'd gone into the settings for ED I was able to then select the BBC
iPlayer add-in and yes I can hear audio from that thank-you.
