The Portaudio error: host error. message means that squeezeslave can't open the audio device. The 64-bit 0.8-26 binary on sf is OSS only, no alsa. Do you have the snd-pcm-oss module loaded? If not, it won't work. I've also seen this error if the user running SS is not a member of the audio
