Have you compared the plugin's behaviour to that of the real web based iPlayer? I notice that the web based player has a setting "how much information can bbc.co.uk store on your computer" currently defaulting to 100kB and currently using 7kB on my PC. To me the differences are so miniscule 0.9f

It's definitely using faad - you just have to find it. Enable logging with os.paths set to DEBUG and also set player.source to DEBUG and then try to play an AAC file or stream. Check the log for faad - there should be one line where a full command line with path to faad is shown. -- bpa -

I hadn't had time to test this issue until now - these are results of a quick test. Non-UK listener (i.e. 48kbit/sec streams). I normally use the live WMA streams as a Favorite so I never noticed the initial stutter /rebuffering issue. I get no stutter on "Listen Again" with 0.9f or 0.9g on SB3
