For completeness:

20,081 mp3 files, 192 GB total size. Stored on a local USB 3 key
plugged into the Pi 4B. I think it would be faster if I was using a
USB3 SSD.

If you're asking which to use (it wasn't clear), while the 3B is
perfectly serviceable, just get a 4. I moved from a 3B to a 4 last year
and full library scans went down from 20 mins to under 1 min, and the

That's not been my experience.
I typically use MySounds -> Latest and see all

Now then, that APK was the key for me. Having just tried it, I can now
confirm that I've been quickly converted!
I actually still prefer the Default interface when using Windows

Completely agree about the default skin being unusable on a phone. For
phone use, I use Squeezer - much more responsive (IMHO) than a browser
solution.

This is pretty much what many BBC listeners have complained about. The
BBC believe it's a replacement! To be fair, it's much better than it
was at launch
For a while, I'd noticed the thread about the community firmware and
always assumed it would be too flakey for general use.
Noticed again yesterday that it sounded more ready for general
consumption. All went swimmingly from my piCorePlayer LMS environment
onto two SB Radios. No problems. No

Interesting catch.
All of this shows how the LMS interface is a bit more constraining,
having to list titles as a single line, compared with Sounds which can
show multiple values per entry.
No easy way to get this perfect. Looks like you're using someth

Just a thought - is it worth adding a note to the first post in this

As with others, thank goodness for this plugin waiting in the wings for
the moment that the BBC finally killed off our much loved iPlayer
plugin. While I knew about this plugin, I'd not really bothered with it
as I, like many others, preferred the iPlayer way of doing things to
Sounds. But boy,

I'd endorse this approach. I moved away from running LMS on a PC years
ago for exactly the reason you're finding. I moved it to a NAS, but
performance was never great. I moved to a Pi usin
I have exactly the same problem with my Pi 3B+ setup and my ReadyNAS NV+

button pressed before it will startup, so the delay can be quite a
while.
This is so irkesome (mainly as my wife complains that "the Squeezebox is

I guess that at least rules out a problem with the plug-in - which is

Interestingly, I have been experiencing the same problem recently with
My PiCorePlayer LMS system. Thankfully, I came upon this thread and a
reboot fixed it for me, too.
I was seeing other odd behaviour that also resolved itself as soon as I
rebooted:

While the problem's been observed chez moi for a few days, I only found

And, I'm afraid, I need a little help for doing this on LMS running on a

It's such a shame the Squeezebox is so hard to configure from the
server end. Got my SB Radio at Christmas and love it, but hate the
server software!
