Perfect! Thanks Peter!
The issue was the permissions on the heyu.x10config file. I had looked
at the output from running:
/usr/share/squeezecenter/Plugins/PowerCenter/bin/heyu info
And it says that the config file is at /etc/heyu/x10.conf
I changed the permissions on
var/lib/squeezecenter/ca
Quick notes (I'm in a hurry, sorry): You're using bin/heyu from PC, so
the /etc config file is not used --
var/lib/squeezecenter/cache/PowerCenter/heyu.x10config is. Make sure
you don't have any heyu apps running ('ps -fe | grep heyu') -- by
default, heyu spawns a long-running heyu_relay (?) app.
OK - a little more info - I've set the log level to debug, and the error
its returning in the logfile is as follows:
[08-08-20 20:52:48.9335] Plugins::PowerCenter::Plugin::sendCode (699)

Hm
I'm a little behind Patrick here, and as my Linux knowledge has been
built on a need to know basis I'm a bit stuck...
I'm running Debian Linux and have managed to get the CM11 & x10
switches working from the command line, but cant get it working from
the squeezebox remote side of things.

OK I have finally managed to crack this by sym linking
/etc/heyu/x10.conf to the heyu config file in my user's home directory.

Does the plugin pass arguments to heyu within the "FULL PATH TO THE BR
(FOR CM17A/FIRECRACKER) OR HEYU (CM11A) UTILITY" entry?
I need to pass the location of the configuration file otherwise heyu
looks in the home directory of the user (which doesn't exist for SC) I
think.
Using:
/usr/local/bin/
heyu relay is run from startup in /etc/rc.local
I've suid the heyu executable (with a user that heyu works from the
command line with) and restarted everything
968 -rwsr-xr-x 1 root root 983194 2008-02-18 11:22 /usr/local/bin/heyu
but still no joy.
Is there any way I can debug this? The log h

Is heyu_relay running as a different user than SqueezeCenter? Perhaps
also* making the heyu app suid to some user would fix it?
* IIRC, Powe
I set serial port permissions to allow everyone:-
chmod a+wr /dev/ttyS0
but it doesn't appear to make any difference.

I tried to use this plugin with my existing heyu/serial adaptor setup,
but although it says it's switching lights on and off, nothing actually
happens. I also get some errors in the log

Thanks a lot for the info.
Im thinking of a senario like this:
1. Squeezebox Duet - connected to my router and my amplifier.
1. QNAP TS-109 Storage running SqueezeCenter - connected to my router.
1. Innovus House Controller(Z-Wave) - connected to my router.
3. Innovus RAone Smartdimmer(Z-Wave) i

None of the slim devices PLAYERS (ie the SB3, Transporter, duet
Receiver) support plugins run
The home-automation protocol xpl already has native support in
Squeezecenter and I believe the xAP protocol has an existing plugin and
a new one in development to support the Duet

Slimcentre 7.1 on Qua
In regards to commandline support, its fairly simple.
You connect to a socket on a IP and sends XML to the House Controller.
The XML messages is then transformed into wireless Z-Wave signals and
turns on/off/dim your lamps(dimmers) and you get a report back with the
level of the lamps. Its a 2-w
In the link you provided the application runs on the slim server which
proberly would be fine.
Is it possible to have plug-ins running on the Duet Squeezebox
Receiver?

Peterw's excellent Power Center plug-in already does this for X10 and
Insteon automation devices. See
http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/BottleRocket.html for details. In my
personal experience, using this plugin, I'd say that the integration
with the SBC (duet remote) is done very well.

Hi all.
Is it possible to develop a plug-in thats visible and controllable on
the Squeezebox Duet remote menu's?
At Innovus's forum there is an open XML description for controlling
Z-Wave based lightning etc. through an IP based XML to Z-Wave box.
If i buy a Squeezebox Duet can i develop a
