Hi all,
I had missed updating one of the plugin version numbers (I said it'd been a
while) and I think that was causing the plugin to think it was still out of
date.
I've updated the version on my website.
Nice to know people are still using it!

Thanks WhaleOil- i think that's probably the case, I removed the plugin
from both places, restarted SC, reinstalled from the plugin repository,
and it worked. tried editing the install.xml file as you suggest, and
after editing the plugin stopped working. uninstalled, reinstalled a

I am not sure why this is not working for you. It should work if you

here are the settings that work:
*Download iTunesUpdate from James' site
*set SC auto-restart to "off" (ie, do not auto-restart on boot or login

Success! will update with info on settings, as well as a note about one
remaining bit of odd behavior, but live update is working on my system
now.

I've updated the repository used to update the plugins automatically.

Is it worth keeping the original version?

I've fixed a bug in my patch where tracks with empty albums or artists
would not get updated.
After installing the iTunes Update script, replace the attached .pm
file. You will need to restart LMS for the plugin to be re-loaded. I
don't think you need XCode.

wow, thanks. does one just install this in the plugins directory,
restart, and you're good to go? no need to mess w/ installing xcode?

As I started this thread I should report that I still have not found a

I'd also like to know - I think it's a useful little gadget.
Should it work on a NAS (i386) installation ? What's the name of the
file that iTunesUpdate creates, and where does it store it - for iTunes
to read ?
Thanks !

I would also be interested to hear whether iTunesUpdate works with

There aren't any alternatives that do the same thing, are there?

I'm seeing the same problem here after some upgrades. I'm running LMS
7.7.1; OS X 10.7.3 and iTunes 10.5.3. Also iTunesUpdate is running in

It's something odd happening in the Mac::AppleScript::Glue module.

Hi,
Version 2.8.3 of iTunes Update is working fine for me on OS X 10.5.8
and with iTunes 7.7.1 (I don't use any of the newer iTunes features on
my PPC mini so haven't updated it for years).
I didn't need to make any changes to it when upgrading from 7.6.* to
LMS 7.7.* and so have left it alone.
I have just updated to LMS 7.7.1 from 7.5.6.
All seems to be OK except that the iTunesUpdate plugin now completely
crashes the server whenever it is activated (i.e. at the end of each
track, or when trying to access info from interface). The crash is
definitely causes by this plugin as removing
