mention I run the NuPower G3 card. If I really can go right on up to 9.1 and still
have it recognize my poor little printer ;-) I may very well consider it.
As for the 7x vs. 9 question from David, to be perfectly
8.6 was always my favorite before a g3 and ram upgrade...very stable,
reliable, and low ram needs...the whole internet connection thing,
networking was easier and much improved over 7.6.1 or 8...

8.0 is too old. You want at least 8.1, and on a 2400 8.6 would be better,
but I personally prefer OS 9.1 myself if you have the RAM.

module = 48 Total)? I thought all the 5300cs models only had 8 MB on the
motherboard (which, when adding a 32 MB card, would give you 40 MB, not 48
MB)?

Help menu. I don't know if the PC version has the same help files.

in a 190cs. This will not increase your color palette (still limited
to 256 colors), but it will make the screen prettier, faster at
refreshing, and have a wider viewing angle

And I can get the case to close and everything but I just need to find
a way to connect a ADB Keyboard to it without using a dock. Becuase the
innards to the dock will not fit into the case. What can i do?

Just an update: it turns out my 5300 had been sent in to Apple twice
before (!!) which was determined when I called Apple to request service
under the Apple Care REA program. Therefore, no more freebies. The
new logic board fix would cost me about $1k from Apple. So I'm back to
resoldering
OK, so how would one discover the vram size without a C screen handy? A
utility which could detect the amount of vram present would be ideal. My
5300 of course displays only 256 colors with the screen I swiped from a
190CS. As I got the 5300 bottom half sans display I have no way of
knowing
Actually it's the mac version, however, somebody did point me to a web
site that has what I'm looking for. Thank you all.
