What does the shrink-wrapped box tell you about what is required? I ran SoftWindows 3 on my 5300c and (later) my 3400c; sometimes a bit slow, but it was workable. If the box says it requires minimum G3, I'd count on that being very true, especially given the small RAM complement on the 3400c.
