seems the router has to receive a DHCP request from the 3400 in order to recognise its presence. Oddly, I can get windows machines to do manual IP no problem. router is a Dlink DI106. But what else do I expect if I buy all my equipment for next to nothing on ebay? :-) Ben -- The VidaVerde Seed
