I have a 540c with the Rev. B PCMCIA
I have a 540c with the Rev. B PCMCIA Module, and a Proxim Wireless
SkyLine PC Card, and it does work fine.
But if I remember correctly, I had to manually enter the mask,
submask, etc. data. No automatic data gathering.
But it works.

Not possible.
The 500 has no support, per se, for PCMCIA, but it does have access to
the NuBus through the left slot.

The 550c has ethernet. IIRC, the Mac OS 8 CD would allow access to
AppleTalk networks (either over serial ports or over Ethernet).
So, if you've got a second Mac w/ a CD-ROM drive, it would be easy
to set up a simple network to install whichever version of the OS
you want to install

And i stuck the scsi drive in a 2300 that i have useing the 230 duo
drive cable and copied the entire drive onto a partition on the ide
drive.
I am just waiting for it to finish and fingers crossed i should have

Hi all update as promised.
The 550c is working the drive is now partitioned with 4 drives but
for some reason 2 of the drives will not mount the mac just says at
start up that 2 of the partitions cannot be read at start up. I will
sort this later .
