Is there a limit to the size of the database? Mine is approaching 1GB--

The limit is 2 GB. An alert will appear when it is more than 1.9 GB.

We've already discussed this a few weeks ago. It turns out that the fix,
for me at least, is to click on that cute magnify buttons a few times.
After a few clicks PowerMail reverted to always showing the message at
the top like it is supposed to.
