Hi,
There are quite a few references on the net on migrating from sendmail to
qmail. However, we've now had a query to migrate one vpopmail domain to a
hostmonster shared solution. (which is running sendmail)
Of course the client is using IMAP and does not want to lose any mail during

What exactly is failing? vpopmail shouldn't come into play until the
qt-install script, which is after the qt-bootstrap scripts.

Hello list,
I've got an issue with attachments being stripped from emails. I don't
think this is a QMT problem, but I'm trying here to cover all bases.
Please bear with me.
Here's the scenario:
Remote senders transmit email to local recipients on our QMT host with
PDF and DWG files attached.

I ask because both of these versions of Exchange will silently strip

inserted, Exchange may be the culprit.

Thanks Dan, that's exactly what I was looking for. I wasn't sure if
this was the proper way to configure the MX records, or if all of my

I probably should have another look at the scripts, and make them so
they're re-runable. I haven't applied Murphy's law to them yet. ;)

I'm pretty sure the problem is with the firewall. I intend to modify the

I don't understand what that has to do with using another fake MX to
capture SPAM.
Instead, it worth the while to setup such MX only to evaluate if there
is a consistent stream of emails which can be captured and tagged as
SPAM (because they would be 100% SPAM) for improving spam assassin
Pretty sure Eric is correct about the firewall,
Always, I instinctively edit the install script ( qt-install ) and put
firewall at the bottom.
I found that out when testing the install a while ago.

Sorry, I must be wring about that, because the qt-install script is run
after the bootstrap-1
However if this is a minimal install the I also don’t think the firewall
is even active.
After the minimum install , I run
iptable -L -n
you should see ( similar )
Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT)
I'm not absolutely sure, but some of the network configuration can be
done during the install, and I'm guessing that iptables might be part of
that.
# service iptables status
iptables: Firewall is not running.
# iptables -L -n
Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT)
