The Foley should be back flushed and irrigated, as the kidney is sending this to the bladder, or the walls of the bladder lining is braking down. Actually, it doesn't matter the cause, the Foley should be back flushed and i rrigated, with sterile waters. a tad bit of vinegar might help.

My question is for those that have used a Foley catheter for many years. I am 46 years post SCI and have used a catheter since day one. The catheter has caused erosion on the bladder and the urologist warns me that there may come a time when the bladder can no longer support a catheter.
