I was always thought that it is important for quadriplegics to get shoes
that are at least one size larger than they used before the injury. This
allows for swelling.
I used to wear a 12 regular, now I use a 13 wide and have had little or no
problem at all over the last 15 years.

Stacey, its usually the other way around with drop foot and toes. Curling
is an interesting effect. Try taping the toes during workouts. Swelling
may be sign of another issue. Is his primary doctor aware of this.

All I ever where is tennis shoes mostly every day--when i was in
rehab they told us all to buy one size larger-i was a 10 but now buy 11.
That way it is easy for care givers to get on and off , plus don't sqeeze feet.
on occassion i'll wear dressy soft seude shoes or sandles .
