840AV FLOPPY WON'T WORK

2002-08-12 Thread Byron Gardner
I have tried three known good floppies in my 840av and none will work. I believe it is a motherboard problem. This is a spare machine but could be useful in a pinch. I have changed out the MB from another 840 and the floppy then works. Anyone know how to get a floppy to work with a MB problem?

CD burning on a Q950

Dear quadraphiles: I just acquired an HP 9600 external SCSI CD-RW. I got it on eBay for what I thought was a good deal. It came with the cables, but no software. What do I need to make this work? I'd like to burn using my Q950 under OS 8.1, as well as be able to hook it up to one of my newer

tafkarI totally agree about the whole IIvx/650.7100 family of Macs. I take a blood-thinner (Coumadin) every day...that's why I refuse to change RAM in those boxes!!! Mikie! That's funny, I've never had a problem with changing RAM in my Q650 - and I just remove the CD-ROM, too. No cuts,

From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] I do believe a 9150 can use eight 72-pin SIMMs. And, if that's true, then an 8100 probably can as well, as a 9150 is an extension of an 8100. But, I've never owned an 8100, although I own and use three 9150s. Thanks for the info. Silly me, after I asked the

I know I need Toast or the equivalent, but which version? 3.5.x for 68K. Perhaps 4.x would work if your Q950 was upgraded to PPC. I believe that Toast 4.12 was the last version to work on 68k. I certainly use it on 68k, both on real macs and under b2 in windows. Kyle.
