Where is a definitive and full list of all of the fixes for 7.4.2?
I see this list, but there is not one word of alarms that everyone is
talking about (so why is it assumed that there are bugfixes regarding
alarms in this version):

Okay, shut down, rebooted and it wanted to update firmware again and
this time was successful.
Now will have to hope that the various alarm annoyances are resolved.

Go ahead and shut down (may have to remove power though)... it downloads
first before it performs install.
I've found this happens often on firmware upgrades - but, if you do
full turn-off, then turn-on before performing upgrade it works fine.

There are errors in 7.4.1 with regards to alarm stability. It has been
dealt with in 7.4.2. Forget about running a server just for the alarm.
Run it for other reasons.

eap,
You are just way out in left (right?) field with this one. 99% of the
computers made in the last few years have energy settings that put them
into a hibernate mode after a few minutes of inactivity.
My iMac hibernates perfectly and when hibernating uses about 3W of
power. It takes only a

It would almost be comical if it wasn't so asinine.

If you are using a local server, it will work just like the BOOM. A WOl
command is issued 10 minutes before the alarm so if your server supports

It would come out of sleep or boot up depending on

There is at least one long thread of interplay between a couple of users
and developer(s) on ongoing "fixes" for the Radio alarm reliability.
Those changes were being incorporated into v7.4.2 and v7.5 of
Squeezecenter, and into the corresponding Radio firmware.

Honestly, I am not sure what the problems are for the OP, but, for me, I
have been unable to connect to TSFJazz from Paris since the 7.4.x
iteration of the SqueezeNetwork (or whatever it is called this month).
It is really irritating to receive an error message for a radio station

mySB connectivity etc) can really only be viewed in two ways:

Yep we are trying to get 7.4.2 out in the next day or so. And of
course, you could have been running 7.4.2 manually for months now, if
you were suffering from any bugs in 7.4.1.

Feisty. Sadly, I totally agree with your sentiments.
After much digging/testing/tweaking etc, I have a radio that seems to
be behaving itself - but there are some aspects of usability that drive
me nuts. Some can be eased with third party apps (kudos Erland et al)
but sadly this only adds weight
