Joel, OEM. The bike in question was a Surly Cross Check. Getting the tension right and having the little anti-twist tab was just not right. Often ended up with too much chain tension. On that bike, because of my gearing choice, ended up needing a half- link to get decent tension. Eric Platt

hey mitch, when I ordered my Atlantis frame in 2007, i also ordered a 107 bb per a Riv employee's suggestion. with the sugino xd2 crank the small 24 ring was way too close to the chainstay. i called Riv, talked to another employee, and he recommended a 110-113mm spindle for the sugino xd2.

I have a 50cm Ram that is currently being assembled. The shop said that the 26 inch wheels on it are not mountain bike wheels but an older/ rare 26 inch road size. He said it may be difficult to get tires. I had never heard this. Anyone have a Ram with 26 inch wheels or know if they are an oddball

Oh, that alignment. Since there's only one way it'll fit, I don't even think about it much. Insert wheel, twiddle with cassette joint until anti rotation washers are aligned properly, stuff washers into dropouts, tension chain, etc. It's tedious, but I haven't found it to be overly complicated.
