Not a pre-order, per se. But I'm fortunate to live in Portland where, as
many of you know, John Bennet ran Rivelo as a Rivendell outpost for 5
years. When he
shuttered early this year, kindred soul Kevin Purcell at Golden Pliers took
over the local Rivendell dealership in what appeared to be a
I would imagine it gets hectic for some time after a container load of
bicycle frames arrives at Rivendell World Headquarters.
Ryan, are you imagining the Gus will be taking the role currently held by
three of your bicycles? How are you planning to set it up?
I ask because I built my Wolbis
Hi folks,
I'm looking for a Tallux (tall quill, dull bright finish, stamped "Nitto")
in 26.0 w/ 80mm length (from center of quill to center of bars). 90mm
length might work out as well.
With a bit of luck there's someone out there looking to go from Noodles to
Albatross bars - I have a Tallux
Front/white clip on, bright; 2 whole and 1 partial button blinkies that use
wafer batteries; old, hacked, cheap blinkie with no battery (AAAs) or clip.
I'll pay postage CONUS, you send mailing address and be patient.

Hey All, Reupping this original post. The 59 Clem H frameset is still
available for sale. The cost is $500 plus actual shipping cost via Bike
Flights shipped anywhere in the lower 48 states. One year old frameset in
excellent condition. PM if interested.

What angle range gives flop and what range doesn't. So I can find a frame
geometry with that in mind. How to people check geometry on a bike before
the internet?

I guess I missed this the first time, but it looks like the strap is there to
keep the rack itself from bouncing around? I ask because I’m amazed that the
rack would have that much movement.
I see you’ve zip-tied the basket to the rack, so the problem isn’t with the
basket moving around?

Doh! Just shows how carefully I'm reading this thread. I see now that you
expressed concern for the paint in your initial post.
Your concern is well founded. Bikepacking bag straps regularly abrade
paint. Some people wrap the contact areas with heavy duty clear tape

One thing I haven't seen anyone mention yet: I would be afraid that a strap
that runs around the head tube, as you have shown, would abrade the paint
and edges of the headbadge, especially when the strap picks up a little
road grit/grime. If I wanted to run a strap, I would wrap it around the
Ditto all the above comments. It does suck. Not near the flexibility on
the settings menu that the classic version had. Must have to do with
reducing storage space on their myriad of web hosting servers.

Ah, me-thinks you have answered your own question. If your bike is flopping
around on an incline you're going to lose time and energy fighting it. This
is one of the nifty things Grant designs into Rivs (learned on the dreaded
Mt. Diablo climbs), they track straight and go *up.*
On Thursday,
I like the way it looks on yours and mine!

Less than a fist on a mirella road frame , with old campy 5 speed and sun
hub up front . It's about half a fist and the top tube was so long I had to
put north road bars to compensate even with the upright position and 33c
tires it handled nicely , on climbs it doesn't flop around like my mountain
The new interface is somehow both more blank AND more cluttered than
before. UI nightmare IMO. Google has ignored this platform for years, only
now to swoop in and hose it up. Way to go :-\

I emailed the OP off-list, but haven't gotten a response.
In that email, I recommended to the OP that he could easily sell the Nitto

that rack and that rack is excellent. I offered $200 shipped for the rack

Bill,
Thanks for the thoughtful and thorough response.
1. Yes, it's got the metal tab.
2. Yes, it does have fenders. I believe the tab on the front of the rack
would hit the tire in front of the fender, but I'll experiment to be sure.
3. No knobs...Shikoros.
I'm pretty happy with the strap
Lucky!
Was there a pre-order? I'm a bit surprised at how long James told me for my
frame to be honest with you. I ordered 2mins into the go-live :( Oh well, I
still need to get a wheelset so I suppose no rush

Ben is taking on the very worthwhile task of trying to insure he doesn't

The cases where this CAN happen is on a rack with three points of

Hey Sam. Is your "old school 10-speed bike" a Schwinn Continental? Or a
Raleigh International? Or a Fuji Finest? What are the "some modern bikes"
you refer to? How are you defining definitely too big? A fistful of
seatpost? Saddle slammed against frame and still can barely reach pedals

+1 on Brian's list.
I would add a generous mudflap for your front fender and in that place to
hold removable layers of clothing, have one more insulting layer on hand in
case you stop. Your self heating while riding is never more evident than
