Joe is right, you want long pull levers for v-brakes. A canti (short pull) lever can sometimes kind of work with a v-brake, and I've done that before to make the brakes exceptionally powerful, but the lever feel will be quite spongy and the pads will be very close to the rim. It's not a

Re-radiusing aluminum fenders is possible , the concern in this case is that the VO 63mm fenders are already as wide as will fit. I suppose it may possible to do the "widening" on most of the fender, leaving the places where it would hit

Doug, I'm currently installing the Honjo H80 62mm smooth fenders on my daughter's 51cm Joe Appaloosa (650b) with 42mm Grand Bois tires. These fenders fit without any special bending, cutting, or manipulation and I would consider these the widest fender that will fit. Hope that helps. Paul
