Considering this clamp on handlebar bag. But was wondering:
1. Does the NITTO bag holder hold tight, or rotate down under the weight of
the bag and its contents? What about on bumpy terrain?
2. Does the bag sag, since there is no rack under it?
3. Is it as waterproof as a Carradice Pendle/Barley/
I am thinking of doing a Rando style front bag. I have a 53 Bleriot, so I
don't need anything very tall.

Today I went to check out a new run of MUP they are doing on my wife's
route to work. We ride together, and it is fun.
Anyway, I went down to the new bridge and MUP sections they are soon to
complete (hopefully). One section was still all gravel, and since I didn't
go down it before, I was curio
So do they measure the footage of climbing going only one way on the loop
(direction the ride will take), or does it include all uphills from both
directions? I know this may be a dumb question, but I get confused by terms
like "climbing", "gain", and "elevation".

This year I rode the Snow Hill Course - Salisbury University, MD to Snow
HIll, MD loop. About 102 miles.
They also offer a 100 mile course called the Assateague course that runs
from the school to Assateague Island to the beach and the Atlantic Ocean

Thinking about a platform pedal.
I like sliding my feet around on the pedals without having to lift them up
off the pedal to reposition.
I don't like shoes getting "locked" into a position because the pedal
surface mates with grooves in the shoe sole, forcing you to lift the foot
off the pedal
I live near downtown Ellicott City.
I don't have one but would love to see yours if you eventually get one.
I've never seen one before except in pics.
I have a Sam and a Bleriot.
Either way, pm me if you want to do a ride with our Rivendells in the area

That is why I am scared to buy bikes from Clist (if this person bought it
off Clist). You can never tell if its stolen or not without the seller
producing the original purchase receipt for the bike.

Reputable dealer says that they keep asking about this and are being told by
Brooks that they will be available in USA any time now but he says it hasn't

I swapped out the cassette for the 11-32 RBW sells, and threw on an SRAM 8
speed chain. It was really easy and fun to do. Didn't need to adjust limit
screws. Just threw it on and runs fine like the old system.

Chain runs fine thru my Deore derail
They have been on the market for some time now, but a search of the web
shows still no sellers on this side of the pond.

Have any stories about a time you got stuck at an event with a horrendous

My two Rivs have GB and Velocity sets.
Both bikes are 8-speed with the same chains on 'em.
Is there anything wrong with swappin' wheelsets between the bikes just for
fun. I guess not. But as an un-mechanic am not sure if there is some hidden
thing I am not aware of.

Here's the page about it. I found mine to be hard to get a uniform bead seating
on my Synergies. But after a short ride on them they seem to pop into place.
Maybe different runs are better for Synergies?

Hetres are a bear to get the bead set right on Synergy rims because the rim
wells on Synergies are alleged to be too deep.
The new run of Grand Bois rims and the A23 Velocity rims ((with Stan's tape)
are touted as the solutions.

RBW says replace the chain every 2,000 miles no matter what. I think I will
try this and see how it goes. Not sure how many miles it takes to wear out
a cassette.
For the last year I think I have not cleaned a chain and only applied

That's bizarre. You would think a derailer wouldn't break like that at that
place because any pressure/ movement would make the derailer move, not resist
and break.
Does the chain sometimes jam between the big ring and the derailer when

Friction shifting requires snugging of the bolt from time to time.
I usually snug them about once every week or two, something like that. I
don't think about it or make a point of it. I just reach over and snug
whenever the notion pops into my head, or the rear shifting gets funny.

Has happened to me many, many, many times, and on different computers. So
annoying.
But I have found the secret to defeating the glitch.
What is happening is:
When I go to post, sometimes the posting window loads with a gray colored
cursor hash mark in the upper left corner of the text window. I

Since these bikes are few and far between, it is always nice to see them in
