The best arrangement, imo, is the dyno BM 4D Lite Plus (or sumthin') --
very bright with decent 30 second stand light) paired with blinking
Superflash. There are other fender- and rack-mount German tail lights
including another Toplight, very bright, that mounts to the rear of a
Tubus-type rack

IIRC, my brother had an old tandem frameset from the 1930s with a clamp on
stem rather like the pinch bolt system used on tricycles when I was a child.
