It's amazing how much power tracks use up. When I first built the
Hetzer, I used 2 scooter motors at the same ratios as on the scooter.
Either motor would happily move me along on a scooter, but together
they could barely move a tank weighing 75 lbs or so.

I have reached a milestone where I have one track turning under the
tanks power , I have a video to show my progress when it up loads .
the swing arms are simply in place with the road wheels resting inside
the track.

Im planning to weld a spring cup to each swing arm at the clamp
position in pic 2.then fix a compression spring to the outside of the
hull , behind each wheel. This is why I like tanks with few but big
wheels. My setup is more complex than the real marder but quite easy
to do (I hope) .

How're you proposing to spring them, mate? The Marder's real
suspension is dead simple but difficult to replicate in 1/4 scale!
