Egauge is a great product with both AC and DC CT's from very small to over
2500 amps, you can order what ever you need that fits your application, I
have used several DC CT's for the purpose of testing extended use of new
products, the website is included and field programmable and
We use this 3M wire numbering dispenser. They don't stick as well as
I'd like, but it can solve some very weird problems later.

I'm also a fiend for color coding, and have had numerous discussion here
on the list about the need to color
What made this installation (again, by others) a bit more complicated was
that all branch circuit line conductors were black. I make it a point on my
installations to require black for L1 and red for L2 up to #6 wire size.
It's not a failsafe by any means but does reduce risk.

Hi All,
I am looking for a good choice for a meter that I can use for the following
circumstances:
- Legacy Off-grid and Battery Backup systems that don't have very useful
on board metering in order to get an accurate reading of loads, generation
(solar, wind, generator, etc.), power in
My understanding is anything over 5% THD is getting to be a problem.
I've measured that high on grid here before. Do you have any idea what
harmonics this distortion is at? Have you looked at it on an O scope?
What generator is this? I've seen portable generators with terrible
wave forms
Colleagues:
In a recent post about some AC GFI tripping problems, I mentioned I am
measuring some high THD readings in certain scenarios—the highest being
when the generator is charging at high percentages:
Inverter only: 2.5% THD
Gen Max: 19% THD
Gen 5 Amps: 8% THD
I measured the THD

Thanks for sharing - this is a good lesson for all Wrenches. Years ago we
had a dual string inverter installation where the DC positives and
negatives were mixed between the two interters. String 1 positive went to
inverter 1, string 1 negative went to inverter 2 and vice versa. The
Hello wrenches,
Does anyone have a recommendation for an efficient refrigerator that is
built to tolerate an older Trace SW (2512 I believe) waveform? This lady
has been using ConServ for many years but is getting more nervous and would
like one ready to go.
Thanks for any recommendations
