during botup setting hostname is read from this file. Well at least it

udp. I checked my ipchains and it shows the policy for SMTP is identical to
HTTP and SSH policies.
I have not yet configured sendmail and was wondering if after configuring
it and starting the daemon will port 25 be open or where do I need to look
to open this port?

I have seen this problem if your system date and time is incorrect.
Verify your date and time are correct. I believe the error is due to the
secure certificate on RedHat's site expires sometime in August 2002 and
if your date is wron it thinks the certificate has expired.

I ran into this issue and discovered the problem in my case was due to
the system date and time was off. The secure certificate on Red Hat's
site expires in August. It may be that your system clock is set
incorrectly. In my case once I set the clock to the correct date the ssl
errors stopped and I
I believe the updates may be generated because you have the DNS cache
client enabled. This service is not required but is optional in that it
maintains a cache of DNS lookups that this machine has performed rather
than querying the DNS server.

It sounds like it is a self generated certificate. You would need to
have the certificate trusted by a Certifying Authority listed in your
Root Certificate Store or install this certificate into your client's
root certificate store.

You don't have to settle for an external modem if you prefer the internal
models. Zoom makes a nice 56K internal modem that is NOT a winmodem. It has
jumpers on it and you can set the irq as well as disable PNP feature.

Kevin,
If I recall correctly, the maximum length is 18" if you exceed this The
system will only detect it as ultra.

I use the Zoom Dualmode 56k internal which works well. The jumpers can be
configured to either use PNP or manually set them.
