Just run fdisk without -i that option doesn't exist

Take following steps in 'root'
cd /mnt
mkdir w98
cd /
mount -t vfat /dev/hda1 /mnt/w98
(hda1 is supposed to be your w98 partition, otherwise change its number to
suit your case)
cd /mnt/w98
then you can read the data in w98 partition.
