I've got a Sendmail problem and I was wondering if anybody could help.
In /etc/aliases, I've setup something like
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:user
The trouble is that when somebody sends something to [EMAIL PROTECTED],
the address is expanded to [EMAIL PROTECTED], which isn't really

Is your virtualstable feature working correctly ?
It doesn't look like virtualstable is being used.
This was setup by the sysadmin before me who did a
pretty bad job at it. It used to work but I

I have POP3 accounts for a couple of people who want their
e-mail addresses to be [EMAIL PROTECTED] .
moe.acticiel.com (my mail server) is the destination for

For redirection of addresses on virtual domains, you really should use the
virtusertable function.

I know and I plan to replace this server with Postfix and clean up
the config but I have too many things to do to deal with it
You can do virtusertable in Sendmail...just move the virtual domain/user
entries into /etc/mail/virtusertable, run "makemap hash virtusertable
virtusertable", and make sure your sendmail.cf file has the appropriate
pointer to the virtusertable, and run "service sendmail restart".

In other words, it's not a bug...it's a misconfiguration.

I am running one.
The only workaround was to get the ISP to move the folders content and then
resend it to me.
I kind of dislike that so I ask for help.
This is not a sendmail problem but a pop3d
Hi,
I got a little problem with sendmail :
All mail I send to myself doesn't arrive. Sendmail doesn't return it
either...
My server is known under multiple name, for ftp, www, etc.
It is set up the following way :
Domein
blabla.com IP 10.200.200.200
Hosts :
ftp.blabla.com
www.blabla.com
Hi,
Update on the last one :
I now get mail that is posted to the exact hostname :
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
I want sendmail also to accept mail that goed to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Anyone know how to set this up ???
The /etc/hosts file contains all the hostname under which this host is
known, but

It seem like there is a problem with my mail server. Either it is slowing
down or something else. I have noticed lately it takes a while to send a
message and at others it does not. Just a few minutes ago I tried to send a
message and it timed out. I quickly move to the Linux box and this is the
