Most likely it helps avoid ground loop hum assuming the green wire is
connected to the case.
I have a computer switching power supply converted for 13.8V which does have
the neg. connected to the case and the green wire and in some situations it
does have 60 cycle hum.

Rotron went belly up last year. We used lot's of there fans where I work
and had to really scramble to find replacements in a short time frame. If
you want an exact rotron fan, it will be limited to what you can find on the
used surplus market.

much redundancy as you can manage and as modular for swapping parts in and

Well if you can hear a commercial FM station coming through your repeater it
could be a spurious STL. We have chased down two different malfunctioning
STL's here in the last ten yrs that had spurs that would drift around across
several repeater frequencies.

We have two ExecII mobiles in the same set up 2 mtr Rx 70cm Tx. One of them
will quit working when it gets cold. I have seen both low Tx audio and low
power output until it warms up. I haven't been able to be at the site when
it isn't working to try and figure anything out.

My freq counter has a 10 Mhz time base. It radiates enough signal to be
picked up in my HF receiver. I just tune in 10Mhz WWV and zero beat the
freq counter oscillator against the 10 Mhz WWV signal.
