Okay, maybe you are learning too.
It's good you did - as I was on my way to remove you.

Yes, the whole group was punished. The good list members didn't mind,
Kevin,
Thanks.

Kevin-
thanks for the plug on the new group!! If it weren't for you, the new group
would never have been started!
Glad to see you decided to turn your list back on. To bad everything got
interrupted for so long because of a really simple issue.
Good luck, Kevin! Good luck to everyone!

I have setup a forum for repeater builders. This is not meant as a
replacement of this group but as an enhancement and a way to have discussion
threads without having to have everyone on the list get a 1000 emails about
stuff they don't care about. If anyone wants any new forum groups started

Well, what I came up with is since the Micor supplies arent
adjustable, was two silicon diodes in the charging circuit. Drops it to
13.5v then added a contactor,normally closed,with a 125vac coil to
connect direct to the batteries during an outage. I will post the
results once implemented.

If the Micor Power Supplies are either TPN1105A or TPN1106A yes,
the outputs are adjustable -
If not those
Is it capable of carrying 30 amperes or so?

Hello,
I have several of these Micor
Lee,
Later in this thread the WestMountain charge controller is referenced...
but.. I wanted to address your question directly.
I have been using a Xantrex C-35 solar charge controller (smart 4 level
charge controller) And 2 pair of big-honkin' diodes to accomplish the same
thing. The diodes
here are the specs from the website
Specifications
Maximum Voltage:
18 Volts DC
Maximum Current:
40 Amperes
Circuit:
Diode OR-Gate
Diodes:
Two Schottky 80 Ampere, 20 Volt
Voltage Drop:
0.25 Vdc at 1 Ampere0.5 Vdc at 40 Ampere
I will have to check the p/n,but dont think they have the battery
option. Is there any obvious difference in the appearance of the battery
specific units? I will also look for the pot to turn these babys down,
getting tired of cooking batteriesthanks to all,73,Lee

73âs,
JimKh6jkg.
Find a real battery charger
Do not use off the shelf battery chargers, commonly found at Wal-Mart.
These are SMPS conviently located with a 600kHz operating frequency.
Try an LM-317 set as a constant current regulator to trickle the
battery with C/100, Say 1 Amp for a typical Deep Cycle marine battery.

go to your local bat shop and ask them I got mine for $100
if you don't tell them you are not use'n them for a scooter thay

Fine response, Rick, but why not go to www.batterystuff.com/ and
take a look at their offerings, prices. Also, while there, take a look at
their tutorial, you may appreciate it.
