I have had problems myself, I have got it so that it no longer reports that
it cannot find the computer name, but my problem right now is that it is
not finding the counters on the remote system. I do not have this problem
with all machines so I believe there may be some registry/User profile

For those of you having problems listing perfmon counters when SA is running
as a service, I would suggest to try out a newer build
(http://www.woodstone.nu/soft/beta/salive33p.exe) In this build we force
the authentication in a different way then we did in the previous
buildsin the test scena
We hope to have a beta before the end of the year.

Stefano,
Have you tried using "(machinename)\(username)" for the login name field in
the login box?
It sounds like the SA machine is using the domain security context by
default when attaching to non-domain machines. This sounds like normal
behavior for NT/2000 authentication.

No. Sorry about this but it turns out I sent you 2 entries which neither
worked. So I understand now that I need to change the #SUB= but I don't
understand how to get SA to do that for me. I did a search and replace on
my host file but new entries will need to be manually changed until I figure

There are 3 places wher
I found the entry in the host file where it controls that. It's the #SUB=
#NONE# #DEFAULT#0#WHEN=DOWN2+#MSG=%c is %s#SUB=%c is %s#
So I get it now, but now I'm trying to figure out how to get SA to
automatically populate that field with what I want so I don't need to edit
the host file manually
I am also confused on how it behaves. I have expirienced similar problems. I
don't have them right now, but do not know how it got fixed. What I tried
was copying the pdh.dll (the performance counter library) from the windir to
the serversalive dir. I do not know whether it was this that solved it.
I have a check 'pretty name' that looks like this in order to have it
rendered properly with my html template ->
Checking Disk Space on G on AppView 2.0 DEV NTOHWTAP05
Any chance that you could strip everything between html tags when
sending alert e-mails? That would 'beautify' the subject line
were do you enter the subject line?
