I have had problems myself, I have got it so that it no longer reports that it cannot find the computer name, but my problem right now is that it is not finding the counters on the remote system. I do not have this problem with all machines so I believe there may be some registry/User profile iss

For those of you having problems listing perfmon counters when SA is running as a service, I would suggest to try out a newer build (http://www.woodstone.nu/soft/beta/salive33p.exe) In this build we force the authentication in a different way then we did in the previous buildsin the test scena

I found the entry in the host file where it controls that. It's the #SUB= #NONE# #DEFAULT#0#WHEN=DOWN2+#MSG=%c is %s#SUB=%c is %s# So I get it now, but now I'm trying to figure out how to get SA to automatically populate that field with what I want so I don't need to edit the host file manually

I am also confused on how it behaves. I have expirienced similar problems. I don't have them right now, but do not know how it got fixed. What I tried was copying the pdh.dll (the performance counter library) from the windir to the serversalive dir. I do not know whether it was this that solved it.

The alternate mail isn't enabled in the setup. However, I did change the host file manually so that both have %c but the result is the same. The body of the message continues to change as I change the subject to %u or %p or any of the other variables. It's just that the subject is not changing.
