Apologies for wasting your time.   The DNS address I was using was mistakenly resolving to two different IP addresses. Hence Servers Alive was failling becaue it was checking the wrong IP / wrong host.   Sorted now by slapping the DNS administrator (who happens to be me:) )  On 18/07/06, Dirk Bulin
