As Dirk says, the RFC does define SMTP to be on port 25. Is
there any reason you can't configure ServersAlive to send mail through the
anti-spam software (which sits on port 25)...? It shouldn't see it as spam, but
even if it does there is usually a list of addresses you can
Is this an NT4 server...? If so, I have seen that error many times. The
way to fix it is to reinstall the current service pack.

I've seen this error message many many many times before... Reinstalling
the current Windows Service Pack always seems to do the trick for me,
especially on good old NT4 boxes...
