No sir. The 89 Turbo II engine was *only* available in the 1989 model year
TC. (with the automatic trans as you pointed out)

ACTUALLY Barry (sir)..the 1990 Chrysler TC by Maserati
had a 2.2
intercooled 16v engine not an 8v turbo II.
Confused yet?

I knew the 16v motor was there, but wasn't the 2.2 T-II in
the TC but had the automatic behind it, or was that only in
89?
I thought there were 3

For 1990 the only engine options were the 16v (with 5 speed) and the 3.0L V6.

Makes sense!

And I would guess that was because of the
phase out of the Turbo II in the US, right Rick?

The 91 high torque cars received the A568. The 1990 2.5 T1 cars should
have an A-523 if equipped with a manual box.
The High torque option
Are the automatic tranny's stong and long-lasting behind the turbo 2.5?
I have had a 5-speed in my Daytona and it has been trouble free for 185k
miles.

All the automatic turbo cars 89 and up, were 2.5's. If there was a 2.2, 89 and
up, it would be an intercooled car with a 5 speed. All the 2.5's were non
intercooled. They also made 5 speed 2.5s later on. 91+. These were equipped
with the rare 568 tranny. (only Shelby, not the ES Daytona)
Auto's were typically T1's or 2.5L cars after 1989.
Manual cars could get either the 2.2 T2/T4 (in 90) or a 2.5L T1

I thought the Shelby's were 2.2
If I recall correctly, the 2.5 turbo was used in the
Shelby's but came with automatic. If it is a 5 speed car,
it should be a 2.2 VNT intercooled

Are you sure the 2.5 cars actually came with a 568? I was under the

Caravans also came with 568s but I think that is the only case
They were, unless you got the automatic in 89 or later. Then you got the
2.5 motor. I think you could even opt for a 2.5/523 combo in the Shelby
Tona's too. Which would be my choice. Can't beat the grunt of a 2.5 and
5spd in a heavy car.

The 568's were in the 91 Daytona's with the high torque 2.5. Otherwise, the
TIII's and TIV Daytonas and TIII Spirit's got them too. I'm not sure which
minivan got them, but I know they're out there.
