To be honest, I think it would be quicker for you to find a 6v battery and attach a couple of lengths of wire from an old appliance. You only need to screw or hook one end to the battery, and wrap a bit of rag around the other end. You can tie a bit of cotton thread around to keep it together.

You can zap the germs with wires attached to the terminals of a 6v battery (no higher). Ends wrapped in cotton and dampened. Then applied one each side of affected area. The current as it passes through will kill the germs, so move the terminals slightly every few minutes, because only the area
