orthwhile?
No it isnt.
If you want Slug to grow and help more people see the light, then you
are going to have to cater for the diverse interests and Sigs are a way
to do it.
There is already one, by invitation only, list of ex-sluggers operating
because these people were cheesed off with the noise o
r, then the committee should give him the go ahead. Please
don't try and convert A's offer into something else.
To me, a Fest is a special day like InstallFest, ConfigFest, AppsFest.
Perhaps the Deb-Sig will also consider organising an annual DebFest as
part of its activities.

ncouraging continuous
discussion is an old political trick to discourage people - I'm not
saying that is what you are doing - just pointing out that the end
result is nothing happens.
So - a CC to Slug committee to ask them to make a quick decision
accepting Craigs offer.

Which, funnily enough, was somewhat based on comments you made a while ago.
Yep, if you are going to have one meeting, then have one list.
However, if someone wants to start a SIG, then let the sig hav
nce to run full Slug meetings, Fests (which we are sadly
lacking in organisers for).

in normal jargon. If you buy a boxed set from
most Linux distros then you are usually entitled to some "support", etc.
But, if you can do without the support direct from the distro people,
i.e. you have a LUG like Slug to help you, then you can save $ on the
boxed distro.
