Greetings,
Find a copy of the latest SE Modeler. It has a nice review of the 10x.

I know the exchange recently debated
these two radios, and I went through and searched the archives.
Although the posts were titled 8103 vs. 10x they should have been
titled, is 10 models enough in your

I think Brian has posted the pic of the chick in the bikini before. I'm
pretty sure that he is missing a big marketing opportunity here. If he could
find enough of them I just know they would easily replace the bungee as the
accepted method of launching at the slope:-)

I think this beats 70 in atlanta.

As an added bonus I have included my (infamous) pictures of Kari the plane

I saw somewhere that someone makes a dual battery setup. Can someone steer
me towards it ?

Could someone post the URL with instructions on how to remove the
Futaba 8UAFS diode so the battery can be peak charged or cycled
while in the radio?
Thanks,
Tim

Hello All,
If you live in the Portland/Vancouver area, and need a vacuum pump,
check out Wacky Willy's Surplus in downtown Portland (industrial district).
I was there Monday and saw a whole palette with a bunch of vacuum pumps.
They are being sold for $45 and are said to be able to pull 29 of
No, not something I am afraid to ask (bet you thought it was a question
about Kari the plane launching girl), but a question about the Taboo DHL. By
the way, the workmanship on this kit is fantastic.
Question, the third Nyrod that comes through the pod, is that for the
antenna? If so, what

Most of the information I've ever seen on foam cutting is guessed or
summized from past experience. For folks who do a lot of foam cutting, they
have figured out what works. Unfortunately, the casual or infrequent cutter

Tim - Airezel ,Rich, is correct. Don't try to
remove the diode. If the Sirius site doesn't give you enough data, get Don
Edburgs book where he shows you how to put in a jumjper which takes care of the
problem. The jumper works fine and lets all the chargers do their
read/charge work. Bill
Solder some music wire to about 2 of wire out of the receiver. Make it just long
enough not to stick out. I've had no problems with this and it's what Oleg uses.

Hi Jeff - Below your message is the one
from Dennis. I have one in my 8U and one in my 8USuper and several
extra so I can store setups for all my birds, both power and
glider. Bill B.

I would respectfully disagree with the policy of using two packs and two
switches. I feel that it gives little redundancy in the case of a shorted
battery, in this case you will see a rapid drain of juice from the good
battery. I know this practice hase become popular in the giant scale power
Hi Stan -- You have hit on the reason I had Pete Waters do his magic. It
avoids the headache of turning on the TX, and while its on -pulling the
module out and reinserting it - and at that point the flashing RF
indicator
goes from flashing to steady
I have never had to do that with my

I just recieved a new SBXC cross country glider from XCSoaring.com
and was very impressed. They have included many new and improved
hardware items and the birch plywood box it was shipped in is like a
fine piece of furniture. The entire plane fits snugly in the box
which is used for
For those who asked about the Acacia, here are my (relatively uninformed)
comments
Dislikes:
- it's heavy. Mine came in at 11.5 ounces with 5 servos
- the vertical stab seems fragile to me. The bottom broke where the rudder
is cut out. I would have preferred to see the rudder extend all the
I was looking at the JR/Graupner MC-24 on the net the other day and it looks
like a really great Tx for sailplanes.
Anybody knows where/how to get one in the USA?
Will the standard JR modules work with it?

Hey there...
Sadly its been 20 years since I last flew an R/C glider. Lately I
have been reminiscing badly and finally got an old plane down off the
shelf. Some new radio gear just arrived... the Monokote is
repaired... batteries are charging and I'm ready to go, except...
years ago I moved to

I have these directions from sloperacer.com that give coords for all the
turns and intersections that might help. I cheated the first time I went
out there, I followed the signs that ISR set up for the festival.

Directions:
Take the I-15 N to the top of Cajon pass, to Oak Hill road off
Set up all your launch and land modes on the flap stick and don't mess with
the 3 position switch(over the right stick) during launch. A simple flip of
Switch A(over the flap stick) gets you back and forth from launch and land.
