I hope that you are right. Unfortunately, I am not at all sure that it would work out
this way. I have seen things like this go wrong too many times.
The CD might forget to act in time (I can certainly see myself messing this up).
Folks can legitimately argue that if it's in the

why use it?
I am lobbying against this rule. I believe that it detracts from safety.
I will say that skegs make planes less pleasing asthetically, but that is not a good
reason to make a new rule.

Jim, there isn't a slope soaring magazine in print on this earth.
There is however, an online publication that is fun and full of humor (much
like slope pilots) available on www.slopeflyer.com
In print, probably the best mag out there is Quiet Flight International,
formerlly known as QFI, but it
Antennas are simple. Ant's work best when they are parallel to each other.
One being a Tx and the other being a Rx. Any time you put one of the
antennas at an angle to the other the Rx will have less signal exposed to
it. You shorten up either antenna the signal to the Rx will be less. You

Never had any glitching problems. Tom Hoopes is a great guy to work with

I have often commented, lightheartedly, on the use of skegs. We do not use
skegs at all, in Australia. I have yet to see someone injured by a model
sliding through the spot on landing. Admittedly, we use FAI landing spots,
but even so!! If a model touches someone on landing, then it is zero

Sorry for the delay but all the final details on the upcoming

I'll be stopping by the clubhouse later today and will try to

Just wondering. . .do you guys know of any injuries, other than
self-inflicted ones, that have been caused by skids and skegs? Please let us
know so we can better judge if this is a real issue or not.

I have used nimh AA cells in my Hitec radios for 3 years and I'll never
go back to nicads.
8 AA cells fit into a Radio Shack battery caddy, and that plugs right
into a Hitec radio. Total cost = $22 at Kmart.
The latest cells are 1800 mah. They last for at least 4 hours of flying

You don't live to far from our Hampshire club field which is exclusively
for sailplanes and electrics.
Not much flying going on lately due to the extreme cold, but when it warms
up there is almost always a winch up there on weekends.
