10 seconds? You need to be closer to 5 to be competitive. I lucked out at
our last contest when a turbulent thermal pinged me off at 2 seconds.
Fortunately, I rode the same thermal out for a 9:56, my personal best!

I wish I could tell you I am 'clearing some space in my hanger', but the
truth is the finance committee ("she who must be obeyed") has vetoed my
request for funds. So, I have to sell my 2 of my 3 planes to finance my new

I need to get set up with an alternate frequency, so I need another
frequency module for a Futaba 8UHFS Tx. I could order from Tower, but if
there are any small vendors that carry these, let me know.
I will also need some Hitec Rx crystals to match.

Some interesting thoughts and opinions from a lot of people recently!
Let's ditch this idea that a 'no skegs' rule (in itself) would eliminate
dork landings. I flew in the UK for many years befor moving to the US. At
the local competitions, there were no dork landings, but there was no need -

Thanks Dave and all the CASL workers for putting on an excellent contest
once again this year!!
I had a great time and met many of the fellow flyers that I had only talked
to via email. Congrats to Skip Miller - nailing all those downwind landings
on Saturday was an amazing accomplishment. Well d
Perry - I am not a painting expert, no way, but I recently watched a TV
program (Discovery wings?) where they were painting a homebuilt aircraft
wing. They discussed this exact issue. The guy said that if you mask off and
leave it until the paint dries you will get a ridge. However, removing the

At the risk of offending at least one of the list members, just a short note
to tell you that the Starlite (Euro Hera) & Mystery Ship have both been
sold. Sorry for not replying to all those that enquired individually, but I
am hopping between email addresses right now.
Thanks for the bandwidth!
thanks, Dave - good to see so much info so soon! Well done - looks like CASL
did a great job once again.

Euro Hera (Starlite) has the recommended cg at 83mm back from the leading edge,
mine is currently 97mm back. This is still ahead of the neutral position (pulls
out gently in the dive test), but the elevators are exactly lined up with the V

tow ring attaches to the top of the parachute (or on a short line extending
from it). The parachute shroud lines are generally connected to a ring which
is itself connected to the main launch line. The parachute is

We used to fly a 'Gentle Lady' comp and the lightest version I saw had
1) replaced the pushrods with pull-pull cables. This save a lot of weight
behind the cg (you should consider doing this mod to at least the rudder, if
not the elevator)

There was an upgrade available for the FF7 in the UK (and, I assume the US)
to add 4 additional memories. In order to access the new memories you had to
flick a switch (top left?). No...you could not use it to switch memory
functions in flight (tried that!).

Sad, sad story, so I better give you all a laugh at my expense to maybe
brighten your day. This is the story of the Hera (euro version) that would

I would look at the NSP Pinnacle Hi-starts. I use the 'L' version for
everything from a Gentle Lady to a molded 3m, although you might find the
Standard size a better choice...nothing against Multiplex or any other
vendors out there, I have never tried their products.

You are probably about right with the average weights for Euro F3J, maybe a
little on the heavy side. My 'Starlite' (UK version of the 'Hera') currently
tips the scales at 69oz...not sure what the US Hera's typically weigh.
Must have put too much helium in the wings
