I really appreciated the information on Advanced Range Testing. While I've
had mostly good luck (yes - it really is 'luck') with 72MHz, the expense and
horror stories of 2.4 have kept me away. With this article, a realistic
analysis process seems possible which would address the reception problems.
The Futaba FASST system has two antennas and does not use a second RX.
Each antenna has a short piece of coaxial cable on it (very small
diameter) that is a few inches long. This makes it much easier to get
the antennas out and away from the CF in a fuse, etc.
Just wanted to throw that so it
I've been on 2.4 since September. No problems. Flew on 2.4 at the Visalia
contest and everything worked perfect (JR9303). I plan on flying the F3J world
champs next year on 2.4. I guess that means I'm sold on the technology. I think
I'll be posting some VHF stuff for sale soon (real cheap).

Gordy,
You asked for a review of the articles. Having read the articles I felt they
were clear and well organized.
In the first Sherman focused on what he felt were key advantages of the 2.4 GHz
system. Much of the article was either quotes from the manual or the marketing
material, which he use
ugh get the JR921 or the Spektrum 9000. Everything else is SmartSafe.
As for model match I think that it is a great idea and will save quite a few
planes.

In response to the Failsafe issue.
There are several 2.4 receivers in the JR Horizon Hobby Catalog. They are:
1.AR9000 15 Grams Comes with both Smart Safe and Model Match
2.R921 (JR branded AR9000, I think) Same as above
3.AR7000 14 grams Comes with both Smart Safe and Mod
I am waiting to see what the recently released Airtronics stylus 2.4
has ot offer. 2.4 in general has huge appeal to me.
